The EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Large-Area Electronics brings together CIKC at the University of Cambridge, the Centre for Plastic Electronics at Imperial College, the Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating at Swansea University and the Organic Materials Innovation Centre at the University of Manchester, to work with industry partners to address key research challenges for manufacturing large area electronic systems. The vision for the Centre is:
- to address the technical challenges of low-cost manufacturing of multi-functional large-area electronics systems
- to develop a long-term research programme in advanced manufacturing processes aimed at ongoing reduction in manufacturing cost and improvement in system performance.
- to support the scale-up of technologies and processes developed in and with the EPSRC Centre by UK manufacturing industry.
Our research programme is strongly influenced by industry needs and we invite any interested company to attend this launch event and learn more about the EPSRC Centre, its staff, its capabilities and early development of the Centre’s core technical programme. It is our ambition to build a large number of collaborative projects leveraging the core programme and the Centre’s general capabilities. Time for group discussion around applications and topics of interest has been included for this purpose.
